Mix fun and history into your next event or party! Home to fascinating exhibits, interactives, and hands-on activities, the Depot is the perfect venue for your next event.
The Depot’s freight room is available for rental, and will provide an historic setting for your next special event, party or birthday party. Are you looking for a unique location for your child's next birthday party? The Museum is a fun and safe location for a party of any size. Located on the south end of the building, this room boasts the original wood flooring. If you look carefully at the walls, you can also see the lumber stamp “Geo. W. Tibbetts & Co. Squak Valley.” The room also features a mural depicting the town’s early history. Outside, a vintage caboose and other railroad cars are on display. For an additional fee, we can arrange a guided tour of the facility for you and your guests.
Our rental space, the Freight Room, is well lit and can accommodate up 80 people in theatre-style seating, or up to 48 people at tables, with space left over for a buffet table, etc. A small kitchenette equipped with sink, mini-refrigerator and microwave are also provided for your use. The facility can accommodate catered functions. We also have a large screen and projector for displaying pictures, videos, or presentations.
You are encouraged to view the facilities before making a reservation; the Depot is open to the public Saturdays and Sundays, 11am to 3pm. Or call or email us to find a time that works for you.
The Depot is located at 78 First Avenue NW. The Depot is within walking distance of a variety of local restaurants, shops, library, community center, and the Historical Society’s second facility, the Gilman Town Hall Museum. Both a convenient parking lot and on-street parking are nearby.

The weekday rate is $75/hour, Mondays through Thursdays, and $100/hour on Fridays and weekends.
Small nonprofits may qualify for the lower rates of $35/hour and $50/hour, respectively.
There is a 3 hour minimum that includes the renter's set up and clean up time.
An additional security deposit of $300 is required at the time of payment. This deposit is fully refundable if the space is left as you found it and no damage has occurred.
