Community Guidelines

The Issaquah History Museums (IHM)’s mission is to discover, preserve, and share the history of Issaquah and its environs. On our social media pages, we strive to create an open, informative, engaging, and supportive online community where we can share stories from the collection; what’s happening at the museum; and have meaningful, constructive conversations. We ask those participating on our pages to show courtesy, kindness, and respect to one another and to IHM staff.

We will give our most sincere effort in listening to your perspectives, talking candidly about topics that you value, and answering your questions with transparency to the best of our ability.

 

We welcome and encourage comments from the community, but the following will not be tolerated:

• Harassment/abuse to any group or individual; profanity; threatening language; inflammatory remarks; malicious speech/promotion of discrimination regarding topics of gender, sexual orientation, religion, gender identity, age, ethnic origin or race; sexist comments; hate speech; suggestion or encouragement of illegal activities; and demeaning remarks about personal appearance.

• Spam or fraudulent links

• Information that is false, inaccurate or misleading

• Private correspondence between user and other community members, or user and IHM

• Impersonation of an IHM staff member, volunteer, or community member

 

We reserve the right to determine, at our discretion, whether contributions to our social media channels breach our guidelines. We reserve the right to hide or delete comments made on our channels, as well as block users who do not follow these guidelines.

By posting, commenting, or replying on one of our posts on our social media channels, you are agreeing to abide by these Social Media Community Guidelines and further agreeing to comply with the social media guidelines imposed by the particular social media platform you are utilizing.
