Do you feel a strong connection to our local landscape and its central part in shaping our cultural heritage? On this guided tour you will hear the stories of some of the earliest families to arrive here and and learn about the landscape they encountered and compare it with what is here now.

About the event
This guided tour will tell the stories of the Anderson, Ek, and Wold families while visiting their old homesteads. Along the way we will visit some spectacular specimans in the City's Heritage Tree Program. We will discuss the landscape as it was when the first Euro/American migrants arrived, how the early settlers modified the landscape, and what has been done since and the long-term consequences of all this change.
The route will be a loop tour encompassing Confluence Park and Gilman Village on fairly level ground with travel on paved and unpaved surfaces. The pace will be easy and allow for plenty of storytelling and conversation.
This tour is the first of three in an all-new series. Done in collaboration with the City of Issaquah, the tours will blend the stories of people and landscape that shaped our town.
