School field trip: Maple Hills Elementary School

Help us welcome Maple Hills Elementary's second-grade class on Thursday, April 2, and Friday, April 3 for a field trip at the Issaquah Depot Museum! This is an opportunity for existing docents who have weekday availability and enjoy sharing Issaquah stories and activities with young learners.

Responsibilities may include:

• Helping to set up the Depot for our visitors (40 students per day)

• Organizing students and chaperones into groups

• Leading the students' tour of a given area of the Depot, including 1) the Waiting Rooms and Station Agent's Office; 2) the Caboose and tracks; 3) the Freight Room.

• Explaining and leading an activity for 10–15 students at a time

• Escorting groups from area to area in and around the Depot

• Helping to tidy up after the event

• Optional: Helping to ideate and finalize activities for our visitors

Students will be accompanied by 1 chaperone per 10 students during the entire visit.
