About the event
Suggested donation: $10

The Bullitt Fireplace is more than a hiking destination. It's a landmark in the history of conservation in and around Issaquah—the site of what Harvey Manning called "the greatest act of environmental benevolence in local history."
Experience firsthand the story of our Trailblazers exhibit through the lens of Squak Mountain: once used for logging and mining, now transformed into a state park. We'll point out key portions along the trail where you can see evidence of the mountain's working past, then pause at the Bullitt Fireplace to talk about the pivotal land donation that began a cascade of conservation in our area, ultimately seeding today's Mountains to Sound Greenway.
