Issaquah on Tap storytellers

Join us for the return of Issaquah on Tap—a guided tour that takes attendees from the Depot to three local food-and-drink venues for drinks, bites, and history! As a storyteller, you'll be stationed at one of three downtown venues for the duration of the event, where you'll welcome three separate groups and share a ~15-minute presentation three times.

We're looking for storytellers (or storytelling buddies—partner acts welcome!) who:

• Are over 21

• Love to tell (factual) stories about history and host group presentations (without a screen)

• Have some existing knowledge of Issaquah's history or a desire to learn it quickly

• Can manage their own content and storytelling—that is, outlining topics and stories, (we can provide, print, and laminate any photos you need!), creating any notes you need for the night of the event, and delivering it aloud

• Can join 2–3 pre-event meetings (virtual or in person) to coordinate storytelling across the group—making sure content is not redundant and that it suits the venue where it will be delivered

• Will provide a copy of their presentation to IHM

• Can keep their presentation on schedule, dismissing groups when it's time to move to the next venue

• Feel comfortable answering spur-of-the-moment history questions from guests

• Can project their voices loud enough (with or without a mic) to be heard over other customers, background music, etc. 

• Are happy to joke, interact, and just generally ensure guests have a great time

• Will dress for the event—either in an IHM t-shirt or a period costume (think 1860s through about 1920)

And yes—of course you get to eat the food! (Admittedly, it can be difficult to squeeze in a bite when you're also talking, but we're officially telling you to go for it.)
