Issaquah Valley Trolley Volunteer Roles & Certification
Operating our restored 1925 trolley requires a significant amount of training and high judgment and introduces liabilities different from our standard museum operations. For these reasons, trolley volunteers fall into several categories. For some categories, volunteers need to meet certain requirements or complete specific steps before they can advance.
Platform agent or trolley attendant
Prerequisites:

Background check and signed Volunteer Agreement

Online orientation (~30 minutes) with history module

Day-of training
Ticketing agent
Prerequisites:

Background check and signed Volunteer Agreement

Online orientation (~30 minutes)

Day-of training on ticket-window tablet

Demonstrated ability to help troubleshoot ticketing issues and handle customer-service escalations
Trolley crew trainee
Prerequisites:

Background check and signed Volunteer Agreement

Online orientation (~45 minutes)

Trolley "ground school"—in-person training at the Depot with a trolley instructor (~5 hours)
Trolley crew certified
