About this event
Join us for this free, one-day training session led by experienced volunteer Issaquah Valley Trolley Operators. Space is limited to ensure everyone receives high-quality, hands-on instruction. This training is required for all aspiring conductors and operators. Mechanics and track maintainers are encouraged to join. Additional sessions are being planned but not guaranteed.
Before you attend this session, you'll be required to fill out our volunteer details form, sign up for your role, undergo your Washington State background check, and complete a general IHM history orientation (available online).
This training event will cover:
Platform operations, including safety, duties and responsibilities, schedule, communications, ticketing, platform operations/safety, accessibility ramp, and rider restrictions.
Trolley systems, including physical characteristics, high- and low-voltage systems, pneumatic system, sander, warning systems, braking, and power car.
Normal procedures, including the pre-departure checklist, track sweep checklist, passenger turn checklist, Front Street signal malfunction, and shutdown checklist.
